PM urges Shaheen Shah Afridi to continue his positive role in cricket
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday lauded the performance of Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi in the World Cup and urged him to continue his positive role in Pakistani cricket with more diligence and hard work.
He said this in his meeting with Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar, Lahore Qalandars Director Aqib Javed, Rana Atif and national team fast bowler Shaheen Afridi.
The meeting discussed the success of the successful youth sports drive in the country and the consequent opportunities for the youth to express their potential in various sports.
The prime minister was apprised about the participation of successful and emerging cricketers in the upcoming Pakistan Super League as a result of the Talent Hunt Program in collaboration with Lahore Qalandar and Kamyab Jawan Program.
Imran Khan said that 68 percent of country s population comprises youth and providing them opportunities to demonstrate their talent is amongst the top priorities of the government.
He appreciated the efforts of Lahore Qalandar and Kamyab Youth Program. Khan also lauded the performance of cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi in the World Cup and urged him to continue his positive role in Pakistani cricket with more diligence and hard work.
