Ishtiaq Baig claimed that Zohaib Hassan leveled baseless allegations against him
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Ishtiaq Baig, husband of late singer Nazia Hassan, on Thursday has filed a defamation suit in Sindh High Court (SHC) against his wife’s brother Zohaib Hassan over his accusations.
Ishtiaq Baig claimed that Zohaib Hassan leveled baseless allegations against him on the occasion of Nazia Hassan’s death anniversary. My wife died of cancer but I have been continuously blamed for her death, he added.
Ishtiaq Baig further told that Scotland Yard also conducted investigation of singer’s death. Earlier, Zohaib Hassan had alleged Ishtiaq Baig of poisoning and illegally detaining his sister.
Talking to Dunya News on the occasion of singer’s 21st death anniversary, Zohaib Hassan said that Baig was poisoning Nazia and this caused her cancer. Nazia told me that her then husband had "fed her something" harmful and treated her badly, he added.
"I did not level any allegations. These are things Nazia wrote herself," Zohaib said.
