PTI wins PP-38 Sialkot by-election, claims Firdous
SIALKOT (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar has won the by-election of PP-38 Sialkot with a margin of 7,117 votes.
According to an unofficial and unconfirmed count of all 165 polling stations, PTI’s Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar came out on top with 60,588 votes, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate came in second place with 53,471 votes.
Talking to media after the victory of the PTI candidate, Special Assistant to the Punjab CM on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the people have rejected those who looted the national treasury.
The credit for holding peaceful by-elections in Sialkot goes to the government and the PTI leadership, adding that the people are fully supporting the ideology of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Dr Firdous further said that the PTI candidate won with a margin of 7,117 votes.
"The PML-N tried to buy my workers with money," she said and added PTI workers honored the vote instead of the money. The peaceful election in Sialkot rejected the opposition s claims.
According to details, 165 polling stations had been established for the 233,422 registered voters of the constituency. Rangers and Police had been deployed to ensure peaceful voting.
The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA Chaudhry Khush Akhtar Subhani. Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were in the field for the provincial assembly seat.
