Vote count begins as polling in PP-38 Sialkot by-election ends

The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA

SIALKOT (Dunya News) – The vote count began in PP-38 Sialkot by-election as polling ended on Wednesday.

According to details, 165 polling stations had been established for the 233,422 registered voters of the constituency. Rangers and Police had been deployed to ensure peaceful voting.

The seat fell vacant after the death of PML-N MPA Chaudhry Khush Akhtar Subhani. Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are eyeing the provincial assembly seat.

A neck-and-neck contest is expected between PML-N candidate Chaudhry Tariq Subhani and PTI’s Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar.
