27 senators agree to form independent opposition alliance in Senate
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - 27 senators in the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) have agreed to form an independent opposition alliance in the Senate.
According to sources, the leaders of eight PDM parties held an important consultative meeting in Islamabad in which it was agreed that show cause notices would be sent to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP).
It was decided that these show cause notices would be sent to both the parties with the permission of PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
After giving the PPP and ANP a fair chance to express their views, they will be expelled from the PDM.
The 27 senators from the PDM agreed to form an independent opposition alliance in the Senate and decided that a summit would be convened once Maulana Fazlur Rehman recovers from his ailment.
