Senate elections: PML-N's Azam Tarar, PTI's barrister Ali Zafar win unopposed
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Azam Nazir Tarar and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Barrister Ali Zafar have won the technocrat seats unopposed in the Senate.
It may be recalled that nomination papers of 15 candidates for 11 seats from Punjab have been accepted so far for the Senate elections.
Among them, nomination papers of 5 candidates of PML-N, 8 candidates of PTI, 1 candidate of PPP and 1 candidate of PML-Q have been accepted.
The nomination papers of Kamil Ali Agha of PML-Q and Azeem-ul-Haq Minhas of PPP have also been accepted.
Besides, nomination papers of PTI s Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Dr Zarqa Suhrawardy, Mohammad Khan Madani, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Saifullah Khan Niazi, Ejaz Chaudhry and Zaheer Abbas Khokar have also been accepted.
The Election Commission has also accepted the nomination papers of PML-N s Zahid Hamid, Saif-ul-Muluk Khokhar, Irfan Siddiqui and Saira Afzal Tarar.
