Hamza Shahbaz's production order issued to attend Punjab assembly session
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervez Elahi on Monday has issued production order of opposition leader and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member Hamza Shahbaz.
According to details, the order was issued to allow Hamza Shahbaz to participate in the assembly session.
It is to be mentioned here that the PML-N is in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) custody in money laundering case.
Meanwhile, PML-N leaders have decided to stage protest during Punjab assembly session against demolishing Khokhar Palace and increasing inflation. They will also raise voice against unemployment and other issues causing problems for the general masses.
Earlier, Supreme Court (SC) had dismissed bail plea of Hamza Shahbaz after he withdrew it. Justice Yahya Afridi, during the hearing, remarked that the issue which has not been raised in high court cannot be directly taken to the SC. The accused should better approach high court after the report of accountability court, he said.
Hamza, Shehbaz Sharif indicted in money laundering reference
On November 11, 2020, Opposition Leader in National Assembly and PML-N president Mian Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz Sharif were indicted in money laundering reference by accountability court. All the accused in the case pleaded not guilty. Shehbaz Sharif, while rejecting allegations of the anti-graft watchdog, said that he was being politically victimized.
