Pakistan, Shaheens formally begin training in Queenstown

Pakistan men's national side will travel to Auckland on 15 December.

QUEENSTOWN (Dunya News) – Pakistan men’s national cricket team and Pakistan Shaheens have formally begun preparations for their respective assignments in New Zealand as they held training and practice sessions in Queenstown on Wednesday.

Shaheens will depart for Whangerei on 14 December to face New Zealand A in a four-day match, which will begin on 17 December, while Pakistan men’s national side will travel to Auckland on 15 December for their T20I series against New Zealand, which will commence on 18 December.

The following are the details of the two sides’ training, intra-squad matches and media sessions in Queenstown.

Wednesday, 9 December

Training session of Pakistan Shaheens at Queenstown Events Centre: 1100 New Zealand Standard Time (NZST).

Training session of Pakistan men’s national cricket team at Queenstown Events Centre: 1500 (NZST).

No media interactions on the first day of the training.

Thursday, 10 December

Pakistan Shaheens will hold a training session at Queenstown Events Centre from 1100 NZST. Afterwards, Pakistan Test opener Shan Masood will be available to the New Zealand media for brief stand-up interviews. At 1100 Pakistan Standard Time (PST), he will hold a virtual media conference for the Pakistan media.

Pakistan men’s national cricket team will play an intra-squad 20-over scenario-based match at the Queenstown Events Centre from 1500 NZST.

Friday, 11 December

Pakistan Shaheens will hold a training session at Queenstown Events Centre from 1100 NZST.

Pakistan men’s national cricket team will play an intra-squad 20-over scenario-based match at the Queenstown Events Centre from 1500 (NZST). Beforehand at around 1430 NZST, Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq will be available to the New Zealand media for brief stand-up interviews.

Afterwards at around 1200 PST, Misbah-ul-Haq will he will hold a virtual media conference for the Pakistan media.

Saturday, 12 December

The Pakistan men’s national cricket team will play an intra-squad scenario-based 20-over match at Queenstown Events Centre from 1500 NZST.

At around 1400 PST, a member of the team will be available online to the Pakistan media with further details to be shared closer to time.

It will be day one of the two-day intra-squad match for Pakistan Shaheens, which will begin at Queenstown Events Centre. The start time will be confirmed in due course.

Sunday, 13 December

The Pakistan men’s national cricket team will play an intra-squad scenario-based 20-over match at Queenstown Events Centre from 1500 NZST. Beforehand at around 1430 NZST, Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis will be available to the New Zealand media for brief stand-up interviews.

At around 1400 PST, a member of the team will be available online to the Pakistan media with further details to be shared closer to time.

It will be day two of the two-day intra-squad match for Pakistan Shaheens at the Queenstown Events Centre. After the match, a squad member will be available to the Pakistan media via an online session. Further details will be provided closer to time.

Monday, 14 December

The Pakistan men’s national cricket team will hold a training session at Queenstown Events Centre from 1500 NZST. Afterwards, a member of the team will be available online to the Pakistan media with further details to be shared closer to time.

Pakistan Shaheens will travel to Whangerei, where they will play a four-day first-class match against New Zealand A from 17 December. No media activities are planned.

Tuesday, 15 December

The Pakistan men’s national cricket team will travel to Auckland for a T2oI series against New Zealand starting from 18 December. No media activities are planned.
