ACE Punjab arrests PML-N's former MPA Sarfraz Afzal

Chaudhary Sarfraz Afzal is accused of building an illegal housing society.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has on Wednesday arrested Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) former Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhary Sarfraz Afzal and lodged a case against him.

Circle officer Zahid Zahoor arrested Chaudhary Sarfraz Afzal with heavy contingent of police under the supervision of ACE Rawalpindi director. The suspect was moved to hospital as he was feeling unwell under the police custody.

ACE DG Muhammad Gohar Nafees told that the accused had built an illegal housing society without NOC, registration and approval after occupying over 200-kanal land of the Forest Department and Lai Nullah.

It has been alleged that the accused caused loss of crores of rupees to the national exchequer in tax embezzlement. The ACE officials told that case against eleven accomplices of the suspect has also been filed.
