NAB committed to eradicate corruption from Pakistan with 68.8% conviction rate
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that corruption is the root of all evil and NAB is committed to bringing white collar criminals and mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion.
He said in a statement that 2017 was a year of reforms for NAB. It’s functioning has been improved by analyzing all areas including institutional shortcomings, operations and prosecution.
According to Chairman NAB, it received 53,643 complaints in 2019 out of which 42,760 have been concluded. 1,308 complaints were investigated while 1,686 inquiries and 609 investigations were completed.
He said that in 2018, NAB received 48,591 complaints and 41,414 of them were concluded. It recovered Rs 141.54 billion from corrupt elements and deposited it in the national treasury during a single year. He added that the increase in number of complaints indicated the public’s rising confidence in NAB.
