PM's visit tantamount to rub salt on people of Sindh's wounds: Bilawal

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Karachi six months after the first case was reported in the province was tantamount to rub salt wounds of the people of Sindh, Dunya News reported.
In his message on Twitter, the PPP chairman said: "PM select visited #Sindh 6months after COVID 1st case was recorded in Karachi. Only to rub salt in the wounds of people of Sindh."
Bilawal Bhutto said that the PM refused to do anything to save the people from infection or starvation. He alleged that the PTI budget robbed Sindh province of Rs 229 billion during coronavirus pandemic.
He said that the 2020-2021 federal budget does not support our healthcare system which is under incredible strain from COVID-19 adding that the PM has left our farmers exposed to locusts and economic ruin.
Bilawal Bhutto blamed that PM Imran reduced Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) funding for the poor and also fired 10,000 workers of Pakistan Steel Mills. However, found 80 billion rupees to fund a dam.
He said that the Prime Minister during his visit refused to meet anyone working on frontlines fighting pandemic in our province. He even didn’t meet the doctors who are risking their lives to save our lives neither he met the Sindh Chief Minister who is leading the team.
"It would have been good for PM to meet the Chief Minister as he could learn from him how we have highest recovery rate and testing rate among all the provinces," Bilawal said.
