Govt to resolve electricity, gas problems of district Haripur: Omer Ayub

HARIPUR (APP) – Federal Minister for Energy and Power Omer Ayub Khan on Monday said the federal and provincial governments have initiated various projects in power and gas sector to permanently resolve the electricity and gas problems in district Hari Pur.
Addressing a public gathering after inauguration of the Sui gas provision project here, he said that the government has spent billions of rupees to address the issue of low voltage and unscheduled load shedding in the district.
He recalled that the previous provincial government of PTI in KP carried out and completed record developmental work in the area that had improved the standards of living particularly in the far-flung hilly areas of the district where a complete road network, hospitals, schools and other schemes of basic infrastructure were completed.
While giving the details of the ongoing electricity and Sui Gas projects in Haripur the minister said that Haripur electricity feeder was installed at a cost of Rs 600 million and construction work on 11 new feeders is in progress.
Inaugurating a 132 Kilowatt grid station in Khan pur, he said it would resolve the problem of low voltage in the area, adding that a new grid station worth Rs 8.5 billion would be constructed in Hattar soon.
Omer Ayub Khan stated that a new 132 KV grid station for Mansehra districts have been approved which would also provide relief to some areas of the district Haripur.
Shadi electricity feeder worth Rs 25 million was under consideration and 13 new transformers would be provided for Hattar and adjoining areas, he added.
“We have approved 137 Sui gas provision schemes for areas of Tehsil Haripur, Khanpur and Sari Saleh worth billions of rupees,” he said.
Referring to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) he said it is an imperative mega project that would bring an economic revolution in the country and would provide huge employment opportunities to Hazara region.
