ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Accountability court Judge Arshad Malik on Monday filed a petition asking foolproof security from government expressing that his life and his family is in danger over scandal controversy in blackmail claims relating to the jailing of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on corruption charges.

According to Dunya News sources, Arshad Malik has personally visited Ministry of Law and filed the petition. He added that the security provided by the federal government should also not be removed.

Sources said that Ministry of Law will write to Interior Ministry seeking more security for former AC judge. Arshad Malik also met senior officers in the Ministry of Law regarding his petition.

Earlier, Judge Arshad Malik had rejected all the allegations leveled by Maryam Nawaz regarding victimizing ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif in fake corruption cases.

Following the video controversy surrounding the trial of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Judge of Accountability Court Arshad Malik has submitted an affidavit in the Islamabad High Court.

The judge had released a statement and termed the leaked video played by PML-N leaders during their press conference fake, fabricated and out of context.

Justice Arshad Malik defended himself saying he gave an unbiased verdict fulfilling all the requirements of justice as Nawaz Sharif was also acquitted in one of the two cases and he would have held him accountable in both the cases if he was pressurized.

Judge Arshad Malik has been temporarily barred from his services until further investigation into the case.
