Heat wave likely to grip Karachi from May 25 to May 27: Met office

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday has issued an alert saying another heat wave is likely to grip Karachi city and surrounding areas from Saturday to Monday. Met office predicted that day temperatures would rise to 39 to 41 degrees during this period, adding that wind flow will also mainly be from northwesterly during day time Authorities and all stokesholders are requested to take necessary precaution and keep them abreast from heat-wave updates by Pakistan Meteorological Department, it further stated. Earlier, at least 1200 people died while 40,000 suffered in a scorching heat spell that began in June 2015 and continued for more than five days.
