Amir Muqam's son remanded by FIA till May 30

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Amir Muqam’s son Ishtiaq Ahmad on Friday has been sent on a judicial remand till May 30 on the charges of alleged irregularities in construction of Shangla-Alpuri road. According to details, the PML-N workers staged protest against the arrest of Ishtiaq by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and blocked main road leading towards court. They also chanted slogans against the detention.
"We will protest against political victimization inside and outside the assembly, and would recourse to the courts for justice", MSF leader vowed. It is to be mentioned here that FIA had suggested departmental action against 11 officials of the National Highway Authority and also recommended to black list Amir Muqam and co. The company was supposed to complete the Shangla-Alpuri 35 km road project within one year with a cost of Rs 850 million. However, the cost reached Rs 2800 million due to delay in the constriction.
On May 14, FIA completed investigation into alleged irregularities in construction of Shangla-Alpuri road and arrested Ishtiaq, son of PML-N leader Amir Muqam.
