Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's statement was being presented as opposition of South Punjab constitution bill
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokeswoman Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday while announcing her party’s complete support for establishment of new provinces said that former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi s statement was being presented as opposition of South Punjab constitution bill.
According to details, the PML-N spokesperson said that the former premier had not opposed creation of South Punjab province while bill of constitution of the two provinces [South Punjab and Bahawalpur] was being deliberated in meetings of standing committee.
"As per rules, new bill cannot be presented," maintained Maryam Aurangzeb. "PTI-led govt wants to throw the rules and regulations into the dustbin by bullying and threatening," panned PML-N leader. "Govt desires to place itself on the lists of martyrs by biting nails."
She further went on saying that the govt was making raillery of rules and regulations for political gains.
She asked why govt had not given response to PML-N offer for several months, adding that now the govt is concentrating on South Punjab to divert the nation s attention from IMF.
She said: "Incumbent govt neither familiar to Constitution of Pakistan nor rules of business; even don t know about legislation. Thank God, Who safeguarded this country [Pakistan].”
Reminding PML-N work on creation of South Punjab, she added that her party not only submitted resolution for the creation of South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces but also adopted in Punjab. If govt is serious over the establishment of South Punjab province then also recognise Bahawalpur province.
