Tough decisions will prove beneficial for the nation: PM Imran
The adviser said increase in gas and power tariff wont affect 75 percent masses.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that the tough decisions would prove beneficial for the nation.
He said this while presiding over a parliamentary party meeting in Islamabad during which Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh gave a detailed briefing on agreement with the International Monetary Fund and Tax Amnesty Scheme.
The economic team also gave answers to the questions asked by national assembly members.
PM Imran Khan and Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh also gave answers to the questions asked during the meeting, while PTI’s parliamentary leaders expressed reservation over increase in gas and power tariff.
The adviser of finance said that the increase in gas and power tariff won’t affect 75 percent of the country’s population.
The prime minister on the occasion said that the government was giving Rs216 billion subsidy to in the gas and power sectors. He asked not to give subsidy to the institutions that were not working properly.
