Drug smuggling case: Czech model challenges LHC’s verdict

LAHORE: Czech model Tereza Hluskova who was convicted by the Lahore High Court (LHC) after being caught with heroin smuggling, challenged the verdict on Tuesday.
Additional Sessions Judge Shehzad Raza sentenced her for 8 years and 8 months in the jail on March 20 for smuggling narcotics from Lahore to Abu Dhabi along with Rs1.13 million fine.
Czech embassy’s deputy secretary also attended the hearing on March 20.
She claimed it to be an allegation because she came to Pakistan to study Islamic studies and someone set her up with drugs after switching bags with her when Anti-Narcotics Force found the heroin at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
