NA, Senate delegations call on Saudi Crown Prince

Saudi Crown prince and the delegations discussed matters of mutual interest.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser along with a three member parliamentary delegation called on Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman in Islamabad on Monday.

They discussed matters of mutual interest.

The members of delegation included Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri, Chief Whip Amir Dogar and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan.

A delegation led by Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani called on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in Islamabad on Monday.

They discussed issues pertaining to promote bilateral parliamentary contacts. 

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa also met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and discussed Pak-Saudi strategic relations. 

Later in a ceremony, Pakistan President Arif Alvi conferred country’s highest civilian honour on the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman by awarding him the Nishan-e-Pakistan (Order of Pakistan).

The Crown Prince was honored due to his "outstanding support for reinvigorating Pak-Saudi bilateral relationship".

On Sunday, Saudi Prince had been accorded a red carpet welcome and a guard of honour at the Prime Minister (PM) House in Islamabad after his arrival at Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi. The crown prince was received by PM Imran Khan and other members of his cabinet at the air base. Seven agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were inked with Pakistan hoping that they will provide welcome relief to its teetering economy.

Billboards featuring pictures of the crown prince and greetings about Pak-Saudi ties have been put up across the city to welcome the visiting dignitary. Strict security measures have been formulated and implemented across the federal capital and Rawalpindi. The army, Rangers and police are together handling security of the metropolis. Meanwhile, a public holiday has been declared today in light of his visit.
