SAARC conference had been prorogue many time because of New Delhi.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Former Pakistani high commissioner to India Abdul Basit today (Wednesday) said it is too early to predict the reinstatement of two-pronged relations between Pakistan and India as South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) had been prorogue many time because of New Delhi.

Talking exclusively at Dunya News Programme "Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Saath" the former high commissioner stated that the position of India’s ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is weak in upcoming general election so New Delhi can do whatever to win the polls.

The situation will become clear after the new government in India, adding that it would be early to say something about Indo-Pak ties.

Abdul Basit further went on to say as the United States has imposed sanction on Iran so Pakistan can improve its bilateral ties with Iran while Pakistan two-pronged ties with two other SAARC members, Nepal and Sri Lanka, are not too deteriorated.
