LAHORE (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday handed over alleged land grabber Malik Mansha Ali Khokhar - alias Mansha Bomb - to Punjab police on one day transit remand.
Talking to media on the occasion, Superintendent Police (SP) Sadar Muaz Zafar said that the suspected land grabber was involved in as many as 82 cases.
He added that Mansha became part of every political party that came to power in order to protect himself, adding that an investigation will be launched into his escape from police custody.
Zafar said that another case has been registered against Mansha’s brother Mushtaq, adding that a joint investigation team is conducting probe into the matter.
Mansha Bomb was arrested from Supreme Court’s courtyard after he appeared before Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Monday.
While talking to media, Mansha claimed innocence and said he had inherited properties from father. He said that the cases against him are politically motivated as his son was contesting for the seat of chairman on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.
Mansha hails from Lahore and allegedly runs a large land grabbing ring in Johar Town area of the metropolis. He is wanted by the law enforcement agencies in over 90 cases of land encroachment, firing at the police, murder and attempted murder.
