PTI's Shehzad Waseem secures victory on vacant Senate seat from Punjab

351 members of Punjab Assembly exercised their right to vote.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr. Shehzad Waseem on Wednesday won by-polls on Senate vacant seat after clinching 181 votes.

As per details acquired, his opponent Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Ahmed Hassan managed to secure 169 votes only.

351 members of Punjab Assembly exercised their right to vote whereas one votes was rejected. Punjab Assembly was declared polling station while provincial election commissioner is presiding officer.

The seat was vacated by PTI’s Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on assuming charge of Punjab Governor.
