ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A high-level delegation headed by Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to visit China next month, the dates of which are being finalised.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry Thursday said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed three agreements under which Riyadh will invest in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
During Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia, it was decided mutually that Riyadh would build an oil city in Gawadar and the project will be part of CPEC.
It is pertinent here to mention that China, who is the main investor in CPEC, had planned to build an oil city in Gawadar.
Pakistan has given the project to Saudi Arabia after taking China into confidence over agreements with Saudi Arabia under CPEC.
Imran in his post-election address on July 25 had pledged to tackle corruption and touched on promises to strengthen and improve Pakistan’s relationship with neighbouring countries, including China.
“We will strengthen and improve our relations with China. We want to work towards success of CPEC. We also want to send teams to learn poverty alleviation from China,” he had said.
