Power cuts: protestors go on rampage in Faisalabad, Jhelum

Peoples protest against 18-hour power cuts turned violent in Jhelum and Faisalabad.

In Faisalabad, protestors blocked Samundari Road and burnt tires. They also pelted stones on the police. According to reports, the power cuts continue in the whole of country including Faisalabad and Jhelum. In Jhelum, protestors attacked the Wapda office and damaged it during the rally.The protesters complained power and gas cuts are intermittently following each other. In Faisalabad thousands of people have lost jobs owing to energy crisis and hundreds of factories have been closed. The people also demanded of the government to resign if it could not solve people’s problems.
