The camp still faces many difficulties, the worst of them being inadequate food and medical.

About 100,000 refugees from south Somalia have flooded into their capital city Mogadishu since the outbreak of the severest famine in 60 years that hit the Horn of Africa last July.As the biggest and most decent refugee camp in Mogadishu, Badbaado accommodates some 30,000 refugees escaping both the drought and war.In Badbaado, there is only one clinic, which usually treats more than 200 refugees daily, while many others have to wait for other chances. The World Health Organization confirmed that infectious diseases such as cholera, measles and watery diarrhea had been spreading in Mogadishus camps. As most of the refugees suffer from severe malnutrition, infections will be dangerous to their lives.
