Dubai-based Indian man spends $9 million on license plate
He has declared his spendthrift as a form of charity.
DUBAI (Web Desk) – A Dubai-based Indian property dealer has spent $9 million on the license plate of his Rolls-Royce, reported CNN-Money.
The man Balwinder Sahni paid the amount during a government auction for a highly coveted number “5” license plate.
This is not the first time that he has spent such a huge amount on a license plate.
Last year, Balwinder Sahni spent $6.7 million to obtain a number “9” plate in a government auction.
However, he has declared his spendthrift as a form of charity that will be used in improving the city s infrastructure.
"I believe in giving back," he said. "This city has given me a lot."
