The experiment has solved a long-standing problem in efforts to repair damaged organs.

(Web Desk) - The scientists at Massachusetts s Worcester Polytechnic Institute have found a way to use spinach leaves to build working human heart muscle, potentially solving a long-standing problem in efforts to repair damaged organs.

The scientists seeded the gaps that the plant cells left behind with human heart tissue. Heart cells, in clusters, beat for up to three weeks in this unusual environment.

Through a series of experiments, a team of scientists built a mini version of a working heart, which may one day aid in tissue regeneration.
