Funeral prayer of elderly civilian killed by Indian forces in Sopore offered

SOPORE (Web Desk) – Funeral prayer of elderly civilian Bashir Ahmed Khan, who was shot dead by the Indian forces in front of his three-year-old grandson in occupied Kashmir’s Sopore, has been offered.

According to details, the toddler told that his grandfather was brutally gunned down by the Indian forces. Nazir Ahmad, the brother of the deceased, said, “Bashir was not a militant. He did not carry a gun. Why was he killed?"

Victim’s son Suhail Ahmad told, “We received a call that my father had met with an accident. When we reached Sopore, we were told he was killed in a crossfire. If it was a crossfire, his body should ve been inside the car but it was found on the road.”

"They dragged the body out and put the child on top. The child’s clothes were drenched in his grandfather’s blood," one of Khan‘s relatives claimed.

Following the incident, hundreds of people in Kashmir staged protests and demanded freedom from Indian forces. Prominent leaders also expressed anger over the ongoing atrocities of Indian troops in the occupied valley.

On the other hand, Indian government is putting blame of the murder on some unidentified armed suspects to divert the attention of the international community.
