Pakistan permits US Embassy to fly its citizens out of country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government of Pakistan has given United States Embassy the permission to fly its citizens and some diplomats out of Pakistan via a special chartered jet.

According to sources, Director Transport of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a notification in this regard. The US chartered plane will arrive today in Karachi and then leave for Islamabad.

The plane will be carrying three British diplomats in addition to the American citizens and the CAA has issued an advisory for it.

However, officials of the US Embassy will not be allowed to enter departure terminals of Karachi and Islamabad airports to see off the passengers.

According to CAA, embassy officials have instead been permitted to set up a counter in the airport hall for the passengers. But, no one, including the airplane crew, will be allowed to disembark from the special plane.
