NAB chairman approves inquiry against PPPs Shareel Memon

Memon is accused of corruption of billions of rupees and making benami properties.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Monday has given approval to another investigation against former Sindh minister and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon.

According to NAB spokesperson, the investigation into assets beyond income and money laundering would formally be initiated against the PPP leader after the approval of the anti-graft agency chairman.

Memon is accused of corruption of billions of rupees and making benami properties.

The spokesperson said that all the properties had been made in the names of family members and servants. NAB Karachi has also released the details of all the properties of the PPP leader.

The former provincial minister and his mother owns 270 acres of agricultural land and he sent more than Rs1.8 billion abroad through money laundering.

The NAB spokesperson further stated that Memon and his wife also own several flats and villas, adding that they have also purchased six plots in the names of their employees.
