Power outages: Omar Ayub issues public 'apology'

Omar Ayub said dense fog in plain areas of the country causes tripping of power transmission lines.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister for Power Division Omar Ayub Khan on Friday apologised to the consumers over the current load-shedding across the country, Dunya News reported.

In his video message, Omar Ayub said that temporary load-management was being carried out due to tripping. He said dense fog in plain areas of the country causes the tripping of power transmission lines resulting power break-down.

He said that teams of National Transmission and Dispatch Company and power distribution companies remained busy to restore power supply to the affected areas. He further said that additional teams had been deputed on the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
