KARACHI/Quetta (Dunya News) – Local administration on Saturday has started process to restore electricity in parts of Karachi and Balochistan.

Power supply from National Grid Station was suspended after light rain, plunging 70 percent area of Karachi and parts of Balochistan into darkness.

Several grid stations in the metropolis were shut down after extra high tension line tripped. Localities around Red Zone, Governor House and Chief Minister House were also without electricity.

It is pertinent to mention here that Karachi has been hit by a massive power breakdown for the second time in this week.

Several cities of Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas divisions were also hit by the power breakdown. According to Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) spokesman, after the repair work, National Power Control Center Islamabad and the Regional Control Centre Jamshoro will restore electricity by checking the voltage.

Most parts of Balochistan were also plunged into darkness after power supply from National Grid Station was suspended. Power supply in the province was restored through alternative sources after several hours.
