Karachi: K-electric hints at hiking duration of load shedding

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Amid rising temperatures in the metropolis, K-electric on Thursday hinted to soar the duration of power cuts in Karachi citing shortage of gas.

As per details garnered, officials of the K-electric stated that production of electricity in the metropolis had reduced to 2200MW from 2900MW owing to gas shortage therefore; duration of power cuts could be soared.

On the other hands, traders have warned against protests in front of CM House and headquarters of K-electric.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday has predicted that temperature is likely to rise up to 40 degrees in Karachi.

According to Met Office, the humidity level in the metropolis has been recorded as 29 percent. The locals have been warned to take precautionary measures to avoid heat wave.

On the other hand, various areas in the metropolis are facing unannounced power cuts which are irking the locals as they said that their routine work is getting affected due to this energy crisis.
