Pakistanis make it to the Forbes '30 Under 30' list

(Web Desk) - The Forbes magazine’s ‘30 under 30’ annual list released on Tuesday features five young individuals of Pakistani origin.

Featuring 600 dynamic individuals making their mark in 20 different industries, including media, education, games, enterprise technology, healthcare, law and policy and social entrepreneurs, the list includes a diverse mix of game changers all under the age of 30.

The young dynamic individuals of Pakistani origin listed this year have been selected for their achievements in enterprise technology, retail and e-commerce and education.

S Zyad Enam - CEO Cresta

Selected in the enterprise technology category, Enam started a healthcare provider platform in Pakistan called MediConnect. Having dropped out of his PhD program at Stanford University, Enam also founded Cresta.ai - a startup that aims to scale and improve the quality of customer services.

Sarah Ahmed - Founder Warp+ Weft

The New York-based entrepreneur was selected for her work in the retail and e-commerce industry. Twenty-eight-year-old Sarah Ahmed founded Warp + Weft, which she describes as “a premium denim brand that weaves its own fabric to guarantee the best value and fit”. The brand aims to ensure size inclusivity.

Raza Munir - Co-founder Climb Credit

In the education category, Raza Munir lands a spot with his startup Climb Credit that aims to deal with student debt. Munir co-founded the initiative along with partners including Zander Rafael, Amit Sinha and Vishal Garg. The initiative has managed to provide loans to over 5,000 students attending 60 schools. In October, the startup entered into agreements with investors to purchase $130 million of student loans originated by Climb Credit.

Khizer Hayat - CTO ThroughPut Inc.

Co-founder of ThroughPut, a data science automation company which estimates waste in supply chain and logistics operations, and offers recommendations to eliminate bottlenecks and areas of concern, Khizer Hayat made it to the Forbes list under the enterprise technology category. He is also the president of the Teach Pakistan Initiative, an NGO working to improve the education system of rural Pakistan.

Abbas Haider - Aspetto

Abbas Haider, 28, has made it to the Forbes list under the ‘Manufacturing and Industry’ category for co-founding Aspetto, a clothing firm that deals in comfortable, tailor-made, bullet-resistant clothing. Haider’s business has already raised $300,000 in seed funding and is set to see its 2017 revenue increase $2.5 million.
