Security high alert for main procession of 8th Muharram in Karachi
The procession will appear from Nishtar Park and culminate at Imambargah Husanian Iranian, Kharadar.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The main procession of 8th Muharram in Karachi would appear from Nishtar Park on Friday and culminate at Imambargah Husanian Iranian, Kharadar.
The procession will begin after Majlis-i-Iza and will pass through Numaish Chowrangi MA Jinnah Road where they will offer Namaz-e-Zuhreen at Ali Raza imambargah.
The procession will then reach Kharadar after going through Sea Breeze, Sadar, Tibet Centre, Eidgah and Bolton Market. All the routes of the procession have been sealed while placing containers and barricades.

More than 6000 police personnel have been deployed for the security of the mourners. Three protective circles by scouts, police and Rangers will also be made around the procession.
Sharp shooters would man the rooftops along the route of the procession. Bomb disposal teams will sweep the area while staying ahead of the procession whereas the routes will be monitored by CCTV cameras.
Morever, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority while following the directions of federal government has also banned mobile phone service in the city from 9am to 9pm.
