NSC condemns unprovoked firing across LoC by Indian forces

PM Shahid Khaqan chaired National Security Committee meeting in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Security Committee meeting on Wednesday chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi condemned unprovoked cross-border firing by Indian forces.

NSC meeting took place in the capital where all three chiefs of armed forces were present. ISI DG, DGMO and IB DG also attended the high-level session along with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and other ministers and advisors.

The attendees were briefed about the internal and external security situation. They agreed to continue taking steps for peace process in Afghanistan, condemning the unprovoked firing across Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces and violation of humanitarian rights in India-held Kashmir.

NSC related the regional peace with resolution of Kashmir conflict. The heads expressed satisfaction over anti-terrorism operations across the country. It has been decided to continue Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and Khyber-IV to eradicate terrorist organisations.
