PPP not supporting PML-N but democracy, says PPP chairman

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has alleged on Friday that former premier Nawaz Sharif is resorting to contempt of court in each of his Grand Trunk (GT) Road ‘homecoming rally’ address.

Bilawal addressed a press conference in Karachi and said that Nawaz Sharif wishes to perform duties of an opposition while being in the government.

He said that Nawaz Sharif wants to hide behind former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto

He said that there is no threat to democracy but there is to Nawaz Sharif’s political standing. Bilawal said that his stance over Article 62 and Article 63 is like that of Senate chairman Raza Rabbani.

He said that PPP was not supporting PML-N but democracy.

Former premier Nawaz Sharif forgets pacts with political parties whilst serving in the government, Bilawal complained. He said that he recalls everything once he is ousted.

PPP chairman said that Panama scandal surfaced through foreign entities and establishment of Pakistan did not have anything to do with the leak.

Nawaz Sharif set out on a journey to his Lahore residence via GT Road on August 9 and has been on the road for over two days owing to rallies and groups of PML-N supporters welcoming his convoy at several points through the course.

He is scheduled to reach Gujranwala today and on Saturday, he will set out on the last leg of the journey; to Lahore.
