PML-N announces new schedule, route for Nawaz's Lahore visit
Nawaz Sharif will travel on 9th August via G.T. Road instead of 6th August via Motorway
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - In a fresh turn of events, ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has changed his schedule and route of his Lahore visit.
The ex-Prime Minister will travel from Islamabad to Lahore on coming wednesday (9th August). The development comes as the ousted leader seeks to garner public support after court ruling in Panama case.
The decision regarding the change in schedule and route was taken after consultation during meeting of PML-N leadership.
Majority of PML-N party leadership present in the meeting insisted on making changes regarding schedule and route. The ex-PM found the suggestion to be valid and agreed to make changes in plan. The purpose behind the new decision was the approach to gather as much public support due to prevalance of PML-N vote in the constituencies located along the G.T. Road.
In the opinion of PML-N leaders, the new approach will allow for successful show of power.
Senator Asif Kirmani, ex-advisor to former Prime Minister said that the PML-N caravan will depart at 09:00 a.m., from Islamabad to destination of Lahore. He further said that massive preparations are being made for the celebration of receiving the ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
