IPPs have warned the government of halting power supply over non-payment

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Shortfall of power stands on Tuesday at 5,900 Mega Watt (MW) causing 16-hour power outages in rural and 12-hour in urban areas.

Reportedly, IPPs have warned the government of halting power supply over non-payment of outstanding dues.

The Prime Minister (PM) chaired a meeting of ECC today and expressed his dissatisfaction over strategy to provide relief to the people in Ramazan. He directed the authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people.

It should be mentioned here that the government of PML-N has vowed to overcome energy crisis by the end of 2018.
