The man who had defused over 1000 bombs, suicide jackets, IEDs died in blast last week

QUETTA: (Dunya News) – Commander ASI Razzak of the bomb disposal squad at Special Branch’s technical section died last week in a bomb blast when the man who had defused over 1000 bombs, suicide jackets and IEDs failed to defuse the bomb in his last assignment. However, the government has made no contacts yet with the family of the deceased, reported Dunya News.

Razzak had played a pivotal role in foiling hundreds of terror attempts in Balochistan from 2000 till February 13, 2017. He had defused 15 suicide jackets, two suicide cars and 1310 bombs. He kept saving Quetta city for 17 years but finally died on February 13 while trying to defuse a bomb at Saryab Road.

Balochistan government has provided no financial support to the family of the martyr as yet. The provincial government has only recommended Qaud-e-Azam Award for the deceased upon directions from Federal Interior Ministry.

Commander Razzak had to pay Rs 18,000 for receiving an award of Rs 100,000 announced by Balochistan Chief Minister for defusing a bomb on Masjid Road on October 20, 2015. Despite several announcements, he never received his risk allowance. Is this how martyrs should be treated?
