Army chief visits ISI Headquarters

The army chief visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada and was briefed over security situation in the country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa has paid a visit to Headquarters of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) where he was briefed over security situation in the country.

Lieutenant General, Rizwan Akhtar welcomed the army chief upon his arrival.

While addressing the officials on the occasion, General Bajwa appreciated ISI’s efforts for a peaceful Pakistan and expressed satisfaction over its achievements. He termed ISI’s role in defence and strengthening security was a source of pride.

During the visit, the army chief visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada (martyrs’ memorial) and laid floral wreath.

General Bajwa assumed command of the army over a week ago after his predecessor, Raheel Sharif retired. General Bajwa reviewed Pakistan-China military drills in Pabi on Thursday.

He is continuing with his first ever visits to different installations as the Chief of the Army Staff.
