Divorce rate increasing in Pakistan due to gas outages, Tahira Aurangzeb tells NA

Aurangzeb asked authorities about latest development in the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline plan.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb told the assembly that continuous gas loadsheding is an important cause behind increasing ratio of divorces in the country.

According to details, the minister said that domestic disputes between couples have become routine as the wives are incapable of making food on time due to prolonged gas cut.

She added that this situation infuriates husbands which further leads to the separation or divorce.

She said that tensions between couples are badly affecting children negatively.

Tahira Aurangzeb asked the authorities about latest development in the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline plan. She also urged the representatives to inform the house about projects.
