KARACHI (Dunya News) – Corps Commander Five Corps Lt General Naveed Mukhtar called on Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad on Friday and the meeting agreed to continue targeted operation until elimination of terrorism.

The meeting discussed situation of security in the province especially Karachi while both the leaders reiterated that sacrifices of law enforcers in war on terror would not go in vain.

It should be noted here that hours after the meeting, six lives were lost in three separate gun attacks in Karachi, a city populated by over 18 million people where Rangers are leading a targeted operation since 2013.

The operation was launched by the federation to curb crime incidence.

Different political parties have alleged Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) of getting its workers arm-trained by Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) of India and spreading unrest.

Some major arrests were made by Rangers after acquiring exclusive policing powers in Sindh. One of such arrests include former petroleum minister, PPP s Dr Asim Hussain over alleged terror facilitation.
