The Chief Minister avowed to make new appointments in the provincial government within a month

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah has approved lifting ban on government hiring and announced fresh recruitment within a month.

The Chief Minister presided over a meeting of the Sindh cabinet which witnessed approval of a number of statutes.

CM Shah lifted the moratorium on filling vacancies in different departments of Sindh government after recruitment was banned over local government and mayoral elections.

The Chief Minister avowed to make new appointments in the provincial government within a month.

The development came in today after CM Shah had assured the people of lifting the ban while talking to the media upon his visit to the shrine of Hazrat Shabaz Qalandar in Sehwan Shareef a couple of weeks ago.

Besides discussion on matter of appointments, the cabinet also contemplated ban on cigarette smoking and hookah in public places, with the Chief Minister instructing authorities by the end of the session to exercise the restriction with immediate effect.

Inspector General of Police, AD Khawaja briefed the cabinet regarding security arrangements made to keep law and order intact during Muharram.

Information Minister of Sindh, Maula Bux Chandio briefed the media about the meeting after the session wrapped up.

Chandio said that appointments would be made in the government on pure merit and that orders over closure of marriage halls by 10:00pm along with compliance with one-dish rule would be implemented upon very soon.
