Protestors attempt to pull down main power line in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Agitated locals took to the streets today (Monday) in Peshawar to lodge strong protest against prolonged power outages in Mahal Terai and adjoining areas, Dunya News reported.

Baton-wielding protestors blocked Warsak Road and raised anti-government slogans while some of the protestors tried to pull down the main power line through ropes.

The angry locals were of the view that the area is suffering 20 to 22 hours of power outages on daily basis.

Later, the protestors dispersed when the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) officials assured them to reduce loadshedding duration and change power feeder.
