Badaber residents block Kohat Road over 20-hour long power outages
Police reached the protesting site and tried to negotiate in vain
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Residents of Badaber area have blocked Kohat Road causing hundreds of vehicles to wait in queues as part of protest against long power outages .
The protesters stopped vehicles heading towards southern districts and pelted them with stones. They said that the government had claimed to not carry out unannounced load-shedding during Ramazan but they are made to bear 20-hour long outages.
Police reached the protesting site and tried to negotiate with the enraged people but they did not budge.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had directed authorities concerned ahead of Ramazan to relieve the people of long outages during Ramazan. The premier is in London and recovering from an open-heart surgery.
