Calling opposition's walk out as 'cat walk' created rumpus in the assembly.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid on Wednesday said that we are ready to act on the demands laid down by opposition leader Khurshid Shah in today’s National Assembly session.

Information minister was addressing a National Assembly session a day after opposition called off the Senate and the Parliament boycott.

He said that the incumbent government is ready to accept opposition leader Khurshid Shah’s demands regarding corruption and Panama leaks accountability.

He said that we all have gathered in the House to heed the concerns of MNAs like everyone was sitting to hear PM Nawaz’s most-awaited speech two days before.

He said that the government was waiting for the opposition’s response after PM’s address.

I only demand the opposition to also hear our stance calmly, he requested.

Pervaiz Rashid said Khurshid Shah has clarified that it was neither a walk out nor a ‘cat walk’. The statement broke out rumpus in the National Assembly on which, the speaker Ayaz Sadiq ordered to expunge it.

Responding to the ‘cat walk’ statement in a taunting way, Khurshid Shah termed government as ‘cat’ and opposition is walking after it. He said that it was actually a ‘Panama walk’.

Earlier, Khurshid Shah said that dust has not settled over Panama leaks issue yet as it is the beginning. He said that the opposition formed a questionnaire to aid solution of the issue and not complicate it.

Shah said that the walk out was staged after the premier did not answer opposition’s questions. He said that the government gave confusing and contradictory statements over offshore companies of premier’s sons.
