Ideological Zarb-e-Azb essential to abolish extremist thinking: Pervaiz Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has urged media to contribute to eradicating extremism from the country.
He was addressing a media training workshop on "Conflict Reporting" in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Minister said that ideological Zarb-e-Azb is essential to defeat extremist thinking.
He said that reporting an issue is easier if it is between two countries however; if the conflict exists within a society and have its roots in religion then reporting in such a situation becomes difficult.
He reiterated that extremist elements are strengthened when media blames and criticize government over nation’s loss of life.
Pervaiz Rasheed urged that people need to fix their intellectual base in order to eliminate extremism that targeted him and Junaid Jamshaid.
Furthermore, he added that in the present era people have forgot the rules of religion but the world has adopted them.
