Medicines in shortage as escalating prices affect supply
Pharmaceutical companies cut back the supply of drugs with rise in prices, say wholesale dealers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Citizens suffer further frustration with a medicine shortage hitting the city Thursday as escalating prices of drugs affected their supply as well. Citizens are distressed by the dearth of medicines for fever, pyrexia, stomach aches, cough, diabetes and other conditions.
According to wholesale medicine dealers, pharmaceutical companies have cut back the supply of drugs with the rise in prices due to which citizens are facing a severe distress.
Dealers have further stated that a 70% escalation in drug prices was sheer injustice with the poor citizens of the nation. They stated that government should take immediate measures for the reduction in prices so people can get some relief from the problem.
