Action plan for human rights ready: Pervaiz Rashid
Barrister Zafarullah says the laws concerning civil, criminal cases are being reconsidered
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has on Thursday said that the action plan for the human rights has been prepared. Special Advisor to Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, Barrister Zafarullah, said that the laws concerning civil and criminal cases are being reconsidered, reported Dunya News.
Holding a press conference in Islamabad, the federal ministers said that the action plan for human rights had been readied and the laws concerning human rights were being reformed. Government released a fund of Rs 100 million for providing free legal support to the needy. Federal Minister Zahid Hamid told that the legislation process for the rights of children, women minorities and disabled persons was being initiated.
The ministers told that the topics of human rights were being introduced to the curricula of schools and colleges. “Media policy is also being set up in this regard. Rs 25 million have been released for Institute of Human Rights”, they said.
Barrister Zafarullah told that the civil and criminal laws were being reconsidered in order to expedite the judicial process. “Had there been no sit-ins in the D Chowk, the government would have completed most of the reforms by now”, said Pervaiz Rashid.
